Why Champion?

The story of Jobski Cosmetics — born of passion and championship titles.

From the first beard I grew in Norway, through the titles of champion of Norway, Poland and Sweden, all the way to 3rd place at the World Championships in the USA. This is the story told in Radosław Jobski’s own words — and of the formulas that grew right alongside his beard.

It all started with a single decision: my first beard

My journey with the beard began about nine years ago, at a moment that for many is a turning point — when I emigrated to Norway. A new country, new surroundings and the harsh Scandinavian climate were all an invitation to change. Before that I had always worn safe, short stubble, but I never had the courage to “let it run free.” Something was holding me back. Only after a while, watching the people around me and looking for a way to express myself, did I decide: “In for a penny, in for a pound. I want to see what I’ll look like with a really long beard.”

The decision was simple, but the process took patience. I grew it out past twenty centimetres. No rock star, actor or internet trend inspired me. It was an inner instinct. I felt the beard suited me, that it was the missing piece of my face. It gave me confidence, character and — most importantly — it meant I finally said goodbye for good to the “baby face” look that had followed me for years.

From a smooth face to my first grooming challenges

The beginnings can be tough, and my education in beard care was born the hard way. My first “guru” was a Syrian barber I used to visit in Norway. He showed me the power of simplicity, working pure argan oil into my beard. To this day that scent reminds me of the start of the journey. I also remember the moment I got my first “luxury,” top-shelf product for my birthday. That was the spark — the moment grooming stopped being a chore and became my daily, manly ritual.

Over time I noticed my beard growing thicker and better in quality, but the road was no bed of roses. I wrestled with the classic problems of a beginner beardsman: dried-out skin, unsightly flaking under the beard and persistent itching. I knew I was doing something wrong — or that the products I was using weren’t doing what they were supposed to.

So I dug into the subject. I started reading, analysing ingredient lists, and understood one thing: plenty of products on the market are just marketing fluff.

I remember being recommended a “miracle” serum. Despite its pleasant scent, after applying it my hands were so sticky that soap could barely wash it off. It turned out to be a product built on heavy silicones, made for women’s hair, not for a man’s demanding face. Instead of nourishing, it coated the hair, giving a false impression of smoothness while suffocating the skin underneath. That’s when I understood that real men’s grooming has to draw from nature, not from a petrochemical lab.

When grooming becomes a passion — the road to the stage

That experience — frustration combined with growing knowledge — became the foundation of today’s Jobski Cosmetics. I saw a gap in the market. There were no honest products: natural, effective and created by someone who knows beard problems inside out, not from a spreadsheet cell.

A beardsman is born: experiments and the search for the perfect formula

I started searching on my own. I ordered products from all over the world — from the USA to bestsellers from Turkey. I tested, sniffed, smeared them on. Most ended up in the bin after just a few uses. They were either too greasy, smelled of chemicals, or their ingredient lists left a lot to be desired.

Rather than playing “amateur chemist” in my kitchen, I decided to do it professionally. I reached out to the best in Poland — Slickhaven from Kraków and their Fernlab laboratory. I didn’t want an off-the-shelf catalogue product. I gave them a precise, original brief: I wanted to create the first beard serum on the market with a fully natural composition that actually works, absorbs quickly and smells like victory.

And so Champion was born. The breakthrough moment came when I received the first final sample. I worked the serum into my beard, looked in the mirror and… I just knew. It had never looked this good. The shine was natural, the hair soft, the skin soothed. That was when I realised this was no longer a hobby. It was the beginning of my brand and a new chapter for Jobski Cosmetics.

My first competition — debut at the Norwegian Championships

With a great beard (and a secret weapon in the form of cosmetic prototypes), I found my way to my first beard competition. It happened a little by chance. My new Polish barber — who competed himself — joked: “Mate, you’ve got a better beard than me, you should enter.” That motivated me. I wanted to see whether I really stood a chance against the descendants of the Vikings.

I went back to my previous barber, we styled the look, and I stepped onto the stage. The emotions were immense. It turned out I won not only my category (over 20 cm) but also the overall final. I claimed the title of Best Beard in Norway.

Later I learned I was the first foreigner in history to take that trophy (my barber friend came second, which added some spice to the rivalry). That moment changed how I saw myself. I understood that hard work on your image pays off in ways that international judges recognise.

Polishing the style on European arenas: Sweden and Poland

Appetite grows with eating. The success in Norway was only a spark. I wanted to test myself in other markets, see other styles and measure up against other legends of the beard scene.

The Swedish challenge and the experience I gained

I competed in Poland in a shorter category and won, but the lack of a “Best in Show” final left me wanting more. So I set off for Sweden. There a real challenge awaited me — a beardsman who had beaten me in Norway in a different category. It was a matter of honour and sporting rivalry.

In Sweden I showed my versatility. I won both the natural and the styled categories, where — something new for me — I curled my moustache. That experience taught me how crucial precision is in beard styling, and how much you need a product that holds its shape for hours under the spotlights. Those wins helped me build an international network of contacts and opened doors to a world I had previously only read about.

Polish Champion — proof of class on home turf

Despite my successes abroad, winning the Polish Championship meant something deeply sentimental to me. It was confirmation of my class on “home turf.” My father was there with me, along with his partner. Seeing the pride in his eyes when they announced that I had become Polish Champion was worth more than any cup. It was a moment that proved to me that passion can bridge generations and be a source of pride for the whole family.

A beardsman’s American Dream — on the podium at the World Championships in the USA

After conquering Scandinavia and Poland, I knew I had only one step left. The biggest one. The “boss level.” I decided not to return to places where I had already won. I wanted to face the best on the globe. The goal became the World Championships in the USA.

Preparing for the greatest challenge of my career

It was the trip of a lifetime. The preparations were brutal — not just in terms of beard care, but logistically and financially too. Thanks to my day job I managed to fund the goal. When I arrived, I grasped the scale of the challenge. Beside me stood living legends, multiple world champions, icons of the beard community. The level was out of this world — suffice it to say that the reigning 2023 world champion only placed 5th there.

Here every hair mattered. Styling a beard for a world-class competition is precision engineering. One mistake, one stray hair, could cost me a place on the podium.

Third in the world — the medal that changed everything

The moment the results were announced? My heart was in my throat. And suddenly — my name. I took 3rd place. I became the first Pole in history on the podium of the World Championships in this federation.

People’s reactions, the congratulations from rivals, the recognition for my outfit and the quality of my beard — it was incredible. That experience fed directly into the philosophy behind my products. Inspired by the event, I later created the American Dream line — a scent that stands for dreams, memories and proof that an ordinary guy from a small town can fly across the ocean and come home victorious.

From medals to a little bottle — how Jobski Cosmetics came to be

Why am I telling you all this? Because Jobski Cosmetics wasn’t born in a marketing department. The idea for the brand crystallised after I ended a collaboration with one of the big Polish companies. I had put my heart, knowledge and energy into it, but I wasn’t appreciated. That was the turning point. I told myself: “I’ll do it my way. No compromises.”

The Champion philosophy: no compromises on quality

As a titled beard champion, I know exactly what a beard needs in extreme conditions — whether it’s a freezing Norwegian winter or the hot stage lights of the USA.

My products are a reflection of that journey:

  • No nonsense: no silicones, parabens or fillers.
  • Effectiveness: it has to work from the very first use. If a product can’t handle my beard of over 20 centimetres, it doesn’t make it into the shop.
  • Unique scents: compositions that tell a story — from the freshness of victory to notes of the American dream.

Join the winners. Take care of your beard with Jobski Cosmetics

The Champion product was created in tribute to my win in Norway — the moment I symbolically defeated the Vikings in my own private “Bearded Ragnarök.” But this serum is for everyone.

It’s meant to remind you that anything is possible. To inspire you to be a champion of the everyday — at work, at home, in life. Champion is a symbol of determination, courage and consistency. It shows that each of us can reach for our own victory, if only we believe in ourselves (and take care of our image!).

You don’t have to stand on a podium in Texas to feel like a champion. All it takes is giving your beard the very best.
